Dave absolutely loves to teach. He was teaching middle school history in North Chicago, Illinois, when he was saved while going through his church’s discipleship training course.
After he was saved, he became convicted that what his students needed more than anything was a relationship with Jesus. He wanted to freely teach kids about Jesus. He decided to attend seminary at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, and graduated in 2010.
Since then, he's been blessed with amazing opportunities to share Jesus with children and their families. His deep desire is that all kids will hear the gospel, experience God’s love, be saved, and begin to live with a biblical worldview.
Dave believes the church needs to partner with parents to teach children to love Jesus. Parents are the biggest influencers of their kids and he wants to resource parents any way he can.
Dave's other great love is his family. He met Melissa in the parking lot of his school in Waukegan when she brought the traveling cicada exhibit there. At the time, Melissa was working for the Lake County Forest Preserve. Melissa is a zookeeper and specializes in monkeys. They have two children, Nora and Isaac, and are expecting a third child in November. As a family, they love to spend time outdoors doing things like hiking, visiting zoos, and swimming.
