Jeremy has been involved in church ministry since 2000, most recently serving as Music Director at Evanston Bible Fellowship in Evanston, IL. He has training in music theory and sound reinforcement from Greenville College. He has an Associates in Electronics Technology from Illinois Central College and a B.A. in Biblical Language from Moody Bible Institute.
Jeremy grew up in Peoria, IL. He trusted in Jesus’ death as payment for his sin when he was six. He has done a number of things musically, including playing lead guitar in a band called Oak From Ash. They produced two CDs and toured in the Midwest for three years.
After his band days, Jeremy attended Moody and put music on hold so that he could focus on biblical studies. For his senior internship, he wrote study material for the Small Groups at Pathway Community Church in Elmhurst, IL. When he graduated from Moody, he continued writing material in addition to serving as Interim Worship Pastor. God used this interim period to help him realize how powerful music can be in the church and gave him a desire to pursue music ministry.
God has given Jeremy a passion for His church. He loves the picture of Christ’s body, the church, being built up as the Spirit works through the gifts God has given each believer. He enjoys identifying and encouraging people in their giftedness and discipling/being discipled as he spends time with the people God has placed around him.
Jeremy married Becka in June of 2016. In his free time, you can find Jeremy playing soccer or heading out on Lake Michigan to do some catamaran sailing. Both Jeremy and Becka enjoy hiking and visiting friends and family in Colorado.
